Anjuman Khairul Islam’s Poona College Organized a Book Exhibition and Open Reading Day Programme to Celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalam

The Knowledge Resource Centre of Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce organized the Book Exhibition and Open Reading Day as Reading Inspiration Day in commemoration of Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalam’s birth anniversary from 15^th October 2024 to 18^th October 2024.

The Book Exhibition and Open Reading Day were inaugurated by Dr. Shaikh Amjad, Vice-Principal of Poona College. The event was attended by esteemed college officials, including:

·         Mr. Zameer Sayyed, Assistant Professor

 The library showcased its premium collection, typically reserved for the reading room, making it accessible to students. Over 200 students visited the exhibition despite ongoing examinations, showcasing their enthusiasm for reading. The Open Reading Day encouraged staff and students to spend time reading books, fostering a culture of reading and learning.

The exhibition promoted reading habits among students, aligning with Dr. Kalam's vision of nurturing knowledgeable citizens. It has provided opportunity to access rare and valuable books, enhancing students' academic experience. The event demonstrated Poona College's commitment to promoting literacy, knowledge, and academic excellence.
