26th National Reading Day

The Department of English and Post Graduate Center and the Department of Library Science organized a National Level Webinar on 19th June ,2021 to commemorate the death anniversary of Mr. P. N. Panicker, also referred to as ‘National Reading Day’.The 26th National Reading Day comprised a webinar in which Mr.Moinuddin Khan ,Vice Princpal,Arts,Faculty welcomed the delegates. Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh ,Principal,Poona College was the Key Note speaker for the webinar. Dr.Girish Kumar,Assistant Professor Library and Information Science ,Banaras Hindu University,Varanasi who acted as one of the Resource persons spoke on the Life and Contribution of Mr. P. N. Panicker, Dr.Salim Muzaffer Shaikh, Former Professor of English & Creative Writer,King Saud University,Saudi Arabia the next Resouce Person gave a talk on ‘Reading: Food for the Soul which made the delegates aware of the spiritual upliftment caused by reading.
As per the directives the webinar also included a talk on the ‘Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on Higher Education and its Management ‘ by Dr. Anwar Parvez Sayed,a Pulmonologist and Infectious Diseases Specialist, Country Director of I-TECH India and Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Global Health, University of Washington, US.
